About MrGuessr
MrGuessr began as an argument between a psychologist and a web developer.
"It's so bad that beauty standards are the same everywhere," the developer said. "It's like there's a universal concept of attractiveness and everyone's supposed to look the same."
"What are you talking about?" said the psychologist. He pulled up the contestants from the last Miss World competition as evidence.
The developer shrugged. "They all look the same to me."
And so, a series of blind tests was devised to decide who was right.
One of those experiments turned out to be more fun than it was informative. Thus MrGuessr was born.
As the game took shape, it became clear that it did more than celebrate diversity. It was also an educational tool to learn about iconic people from all over the world.
